Today, we take you to the Satun province in southern Thailand, where the country's first UNESCO Global Geopark was awarded in 2018. It is characterized by its diverse landscape – from the mountains in the northeast to the coast and islands in the south. Four Satun districts are located in the Geopark; Thung Wa, Manang, La-Ngu and Amphoe Mueang. Find out why visiting the Satun UNESCO Global Geopark is worth it during your holiday in Thailand and what the award means for the region.

KO BULON LE

Koh Bulon Le is truly one of the most unspoilt and untouched by mass tourism islands in Thailand. There are no big parties, no speedboats coming and going and electricity is only available for a few hours a day. It’s a stark contrast to the nearby and very popular Koh Lipe. With an area of about 3 square kilometers, it’s a very small paradise that can be easily walked around in a few minutes without any traffic-related stress as there are no cars and only a few motorbikes owned by the locals. Sound appealing?

STONE ARCH

"Stone Arch" in Thailand refers to a naturally occurring rock formation, specifically an arch-shaped structure located on Khai Island, Tarutao National Park, Satun Province. This iconic landmark is located between Lipe Island and the mainland and is known for its unique shape and scenic beauty.
